The Modern Art of Self Indulgence

Monday. The day to automatically switch back to critical mode.
If your in school, you pack up your books or study text, maybe put on your uniform, check on your homework and get yourself focused on attending class and moreso attending it on time after which you try and keep up with whats been covered so far so as to ensure you get a good grade in your exams. Good grades = good resume , good resume = good job. Good job = good pay. Pay = maintaining youself but good pay = maintaining yourself + indulging yourself by satisfying any other desires.
If you have a good job, you get into your official Monday best to get that nod from your boss that your ready to take on another week of draggingly exhausting chores and arrive early for work with the day's plan of finishing all work projects and assignments and eagerly await your monthly payslip which will subsequently be followed by a reasonably thrifty weekend of self indulgence.
If your jobless like me, you take out your job hunting diary and reflect on how many wealthy bastards that you sent your job applications to haven't bothered replying and start considering how your going to try the usual ass kissing follow up routine while also thinking of how your going to make more plasticly enthusiastic applications to the rest of the remaining wealthy bastards on your list. This eventually should get you a job with pay, which after sometime will elevate you to the status of entitlement to a better job which = better pay which = maintaining yourself and your personal indulgences .
If your on holiday, you have all the time to not think about anything and the freedom to also not think about whether you actually wanna think about anything at all. In the meantime while either of the above mentioned forms of thoughtlessness ensue you get yourself a bunch of cheap movies or series or video games and entertain yourself and when you finally come around to actually thinking of something else to do, this will most probably be a plan to hang out with your friend or family member or go for a trip and indulge in some habit that's completely or majorly self indulgent.
So it is in order to deduce that all our human engagements are simply meant to meet a selfish end, whether directly or indirectly.
